Video: Store Owner uses conceal carry to defend store

It happened fast.  Thank goodness it wasn't in the typical "under the counter" situation you hear about so often.  The shots seemed a little errant into the cooler there, but the affect was quite obvious.  The threat was immediately driven away.  I'd like to see this happen more often.

The alternative is something like this.  Seems to be effective in his scenario (though not the best option).  Lotta anger there.  I give props for the fight in the dog on this one.

  1. Yep, better to fight back than end up dead...

    1. It's mostly better and best to do it early. Of course, being prepared ahead of times has obvious advantages.

  2. My wife's aunt asked if I kept my gun in a safe at home. I replied "Nope." She then cut me off and said that she heard that someone could break in to your house and take your gun and use it on you. My response was that yes, that could happen. But they'd have to beat me over the head with it 'cuz by the time they got their hands on it, there wouldn't be any ammo left in it, and if the aforementioned ammo wasn't currently residing inside the dirtbag(s), then they were more than welcome to teach me a lesson in marksmanship with my own firearm.

    1. My reasoning as well, Rabid. You're going to have to wade through a pile of brass to make that happen and as we see almost every single time as soon as resistance starts, the cockroaches scatter. They don't want to stand and fight.

    2. Agreed, 45er. Sure, it may be that there's 11 of em and I've got 10 rounds in the mag. That last guy, if he's still in the area, may be designated by God to bring me home. If that's the case, and God wants me no longer on this slimy mudball, then that's fine by me. They can find the guy who dispatched me by looking at the ER for someone with several "Springfield" logos in his forehead and a butt-load of spent-brass-shaped scorch marks on the soles of his feet.

    1. Agirl, you usually cross my mind at some point when I see these and start to post on them. If it were up to me I'd have one of the things I had in my Vegas post, but alas the odds are low of that happening.

  4. You notice that she shop owner "pie'd" the corner of the coolers when he perused the robbers? Looks like someone had taken some training.

Good on him. Fight back. Never surrender.

    1. I saw that. The draw looked pretty well rehearsed as well. It's amazing what a few repetitions can do. I'm doing going to break any land-speed records on my draw but at least I won't have to think it through if it comes to that.

  5. Every so often I turn on the radio and from the Indy station comes news of someone getting shot in an armed robbery or home invasion. But not too often, apparently the news that citizens can get a lifetime concealed carry permit and WILL shoot robbers and home invaders has gotten around "the hood".

    1. I know, Brigid. It's amazing that some people don't realize the idea of armed resistance is a deterrent. I guess they think we don't need a standing army, either. Let's just make a law against that, too. Let's make the U.S. a completely gun-free zone and see what happens then.
