Atlas is shrugging in France

The mob decides they want more money from their government.

They elect the Socialist candidate and expect that all of the money he wants to tax will actually stick around to be taxed.

Meanwhile, the "rich" don't want to play anymore.  They are taking their ball and leaving.  This is what the "tax the rich" attitude leads to.  Less entrepeneurs.  Less jobs.  Smaller tax base.  Socialism really only works along with a militaristic dictatorship to hold the producers hostage.  I wonder when that will happen now that the "rich" are looking to run.

  1. 45er...i had a friend who worked in the Canada Revenue Agency, Pension department...one day she was visiting for lunch and launched into a tirade about something i knew nothing about - apparently during the 70's and 80's a bunch of Greeks came to Canada...worked their butts off in order to get a pension and then went back home to Greece...and are there living the high life on Canadian pensions as we speak!!! this election in Greece is making my hair stand on end...i am not sure if the two things are related or not.

    your friend,
    kymber

    1. I've heard a lot of negativity about the Greek work ethic as of late from people that both travel there and have lived in the area. If they don't realize the only thing that will really help them is what they see in the mirror every morning, they are doomed. France is following them down the road and we are as well if we don't stop seeing the government as the answer to all of our problems. Thanks, hon.

  2. Dear French Industrialists and Millionaires, yes- all three of you:

Texas has no personal income tax, and will probably forgive a lot of property taxes if you move your business here.

    Sincerely,
    Everyone

P.S. Don’t you dare wear a freaking beret.

    1. Heh. I liked the uncensored version. Reading that last bit, I still envision a metrosexual with a pencil-thin mustache and cowboy boots. :)

    1. I think you're right, NFO. Germany is looking down the same road as well. Greece was already sucking the life out of them and now France wants to keep their pie as well. It's not going to go well.
