Time to relax

So, on our guys trip, That Guy introduced me to white port and sea salt dark chocolate.  I was in the local spirit establishment a while back and thought I would grab some for Mrs. 45er as a stocking stuffer.  Last night I opened up the bottle and unwrapped the chocolate.  I must say, this is a great combination.  When we did this with the guys we also had some fine cigars, but the Mrs isn't into stogies.  I know, imagine that.  This particular brand of white port was sweet, not too heavy and had a good flavor.  The chocolate has a fantastic dark chocolate flavor with just hints of salt.  The combination is very good.  In case you don't know, salt enhances certain flavors and chocolate is one of them.  Lindt did a good job on this one.

  1. i am going to have to find some for jambaloney - he loves all things chocolate! but i have such horrible memories of red port being served at our special military functions that i must forgo the white port!

i am glad that you and the Mrs. enjoyed! your friend,

  2. Kymber - you will love the chocolate, but a little goes a long way. Don't discount the white port. I'm not a fan of red, but this was nice and light. Maybe your local purveyour of fine spirits will let you try a sip.

  3. I've never tried port. But am up for chocolate. Speaking of chocolate, I had some 50 year old Jack Daniel's, and a snickers the other day. As a kind of toast to my Dad. The Jack Daniel's was great. The snickers was good. But together...... Not so good.

Oh well, it was the thought that counts. I may have to try some port. Any suggestions?

  4. Flier - The chocolate was fantastic and I highly recommend Lindt chocolate. As far as port goes, I'm pretty new to it. Well, I've had it a few times and some supposedly incredibly good stuff when I was younger. I don't know any particular brand, but this one (Warre's) is pretty good. The white isn't so heavy. They also make a red that is good, but red port can be an acquired taste. Now you know everything I know about port. :)
