More "sorry, wrong address" violence

This one from Fitchburg, Mass.  The FBI uses a CHAINSAW to enter the home of a young woman at home alone with her 3 year-old.  Oops, wrong place.  You figure they would review the tapes from previous errors (errors upheld by the courts) where the same thing happened and people died and figure maybe they want to make sure they are getting the right place.

Since it was a citywide sweep of some kind, there are apparently more people speaking out that they had similar incidences.  I want you to think about what your reaction would be, home alone with your 3 year-old when a chainsaw blade pierces your front door.  This really needs to stop.

It took them a two year investigation to get it that wrong.  Double thumbs up, guys.

  1. Sooner or later they are going to hit the 'wrong' place once too often and they ARE going to get in a firefight they didn't expect... And it will be a sad day, because you KNOW they will kill the occupant!

    1. You're right, NFO. The sad thing is that people are dropping their pants for this kind of stuff lately and the courts are upholding this nonsense.

    1. I understand, Agirl. Statistically, it's something that I really shouldn't "worry" about. It would be one in a million. However, it is your worst possible scenario. I fear this scenario more than a couple of bad guys breaking in. I can handle that. This kind of situation will end badly for everyone. More than that, my concern is the continual lack of negative repercussions and flat-out court approval. The more it is "ok" for this to happen, the more it will happen.

  3. Yeah, that would be a nightmare scenario. And what you say is profound.

    1. Thanks Keads. I think the attitude of the courts is what is sticking in my craw.
